PART-TIME CLERICAL POSITION
FOREST CITY BOROUGH POLICE DEPARTMENT is seeking a Clerical Support Person. This is a part-time position based on 20 hours per month. Minimum requirements: High School Diploma or GED. Knowledge, experience and skills in general office procedures, software and police record management systems. The potential candidate must understand current police procedures and practices. This individual will support the overall daily functions of the Department including but not limited to the following: Act as Department Liaison for MPOTEC, Jnet, CLEAN, NCIC and other law enforcement organizations, monitor certification & training, review UCR/NIBERS report and ensure accuracy, prepare statistical data, monitor expenditures, and all other related duties as assigned. This individual will report to the Chief of Police. This individual will be required to pass a comprehensive background investigation. Chief Rowan was sworn in as the Borough's Chief of Police at the regular monthly meeting of the Forest City Borough Council on Monday February 4, 2019.
On Wednesday, January 16, 2019, Forest City Police Department, Forest City Fire and Emergency Services responded to a vehicle fire on Main Street in front of the William Penn Apartments. Fortunately there were no injuries reported.
Chief Rowan served the borough beginning as a patrol officer in August 1990. He became Assistant Chief on January 15, 2011. He was subsequently promoted to Chief of Police on February 14, 2019
Sergeant John Foley began his career with the Forest City Police department as a patrol officer in August 2011. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant when he was appointed to a full-time position by council on 1/7/2019.
